QBs that Spoon together, stay together.

Here is our Univerity Of Georgia QB, at a "Taledega tailgate" Call me ignorant, if you must, but I didn't even know Taledega had tailgates, should have figured though. Even though Bekah calls Stafford my "Man Crush #2", these are not the images I want to have to remember, before next seasons kickoff.

Here is how the Bulldog faithful see these pics, as Stafford can do no wrong.

Matthew enjoys working out in all environments.

He is a nice young man who makes friends easily.

He's helpful.

He is concerned when his friends are feeling down. (Matthew w/ backup QB Joe Cox)

I mean seriously what else could you possibly read into these photos?

Just so these photos aren't your last memory of Stafford, I would like to leave you with this.

Banana Split.

Bekah is practicing for Worship this morning, and Isaiah Grace is sleeping in the next room, so I thought I would jot down a few words. I wanted to share with you guys about a loss we had last week. My grandfather died, as he was 86, and lived an incredibly full life. He waited around in the hospital for all the family to say their goodbyes, and then went on to see the Lord. It was amazing how the last few days he would speak of things he was seeing on the other side. Speaking of seeing family, friends that have already passed, and how beautiful those angels are, etc. Incredible how the Lord lets us taste a bit of the other side, when someone is slipping into Heaven. It was really a good time to be with family, and we actually laughed a lot considering the circumstances. I wish you all could have been at the funeral to taste a glimpse of the life of this great man. Uncle Len said at the funeral that for 50+ years, he had never seen Pop get angry, or say a coarse word. What an inspiration. Pop was always Gentle, always serving, always laughing, always making jokes, always a pleasure to have around.

Ever since I can remember, he would always tell me he would take me out for a banana split, and if he couldn't do it at the time, he would slip me some money, so I could buy myself one. Even up until the week before he died he told me that he still owed me some money for a banana split. I found some guy who had blogged about him, on the internet, after his passing, and wanted to share it here, as it sums up how Pop lived his life.

The Reverend Dwight Nysewander died Saturday. My heroes are departing one by one, with an ever increasing frequency it seems. And this old world and, especially, this old church seem sort of empty without them.

Funny, if you made a transcript of the words that passed between the two of us over our lives as pastors it wouldn’t fill three good pages. But, there would be no possible way to measure the esteem in which he was held by this old parson.

When he was a young preacher coming into his prime, I was a restless soul coming to grips with the rest of my life. He never counseled me on that. He never gave me words of guidance. I doubt he even knew I was conflicted over the church. But I watched him nevertheless. I watched him as he labored as the pastor of my mama and her sisters and their families. I saw the concerned evidenced in his face when mama talked of the demon of alcohol that plagued her kids. I watched the smile travel over his face as my cousin Sally grew to the servant of Christ she is.

The heyday of my mama’s church was the day of Dwight’s ministry there. He’d give God the glory, but it seems clear the instrument God used to build that church was Dwight. There was a quiet, gentle, steadfast plodding toward that which is eternal in the endeavors of Dwight’s life.

I had a lot of kin folks in that church – a lot. Long after Dwight had retired, fifty years after his serving there, he could still discuss the intimate details of the life of my family who attended there. And they, when the spoke of him, spoke with a smile on their face and a reverence in their heart.

Dwight was short, unassuming and humble. In many ways he was shy. He never made a big splash, but the waters seemed to part before him. He was a giant. He walked tall and cast a shadow in whose shade we could all gather to learn of the love of his Jesus. No one ever had to ask Dwight Nysewander if he were a Christian.

They tell me the last thing Dwight said was to his wife: “I love you, Mary.” And that’s so typical. His last conscious impulse was to proclaim his love. They also say in the end he was singing hymns with some choir. His son wonders if Dwight was slipping away to that place he wanted so much to go and then coming back to share the songs of his faith with us.

We stood there at his memorial service, singing those same hymns. I got the feeling was we reached that verse about being “there ten thousand years” Dwight, for the last time, slipped out the side door of our lives and left us to sing the hymns of faith his very life proclaimed.

I look around the set-aside brethren today and realize how poverty stricken we are compared to such lions of the faith.

So I like Xbox...

Hey everyone, its JM. I wanted to join in on Bekahs blog. Anyway, I saw this video last night and couldn't resist spreadin the love. Not that this video reminds me of me completely, just that there have been a few nights here in the last week, where I have come straight home and played xbox. Before I know it Isaiah is down for the night, and Bekah is getting ready for bed. Bekah got me my own xbox for Christmas, and I have played it maybe twice before this week. For some reason it was calling me though. Call it exhaustion at work, call it escaping from living in someone elses home, or maybe its going through Georgia football withdrawl, and wanting to play ncaa, to get my fix. Sad, I know. Well maybe its not sad, just a guy thing. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Oh and Bekah thank you again for the xbox. I love you.

Yes, i am alive!

Well, right now my beautiful daughter is crying in bed after her 15 minute afternoon nap. Yes, thats correct... 15 minutes. Life is funny sometimes and so is Isaiah Grace. This is a picture post, so enjoy!
She loves her Auntie Caroline ( I think you should publish my pictures for me!)

She only has the cutest face I, personally, have ever seen.

She's sportin' her shades and knowing that she looks awesome! She is tons of fun! I think babies in shades are the best kind of babies.

A side note: I just went to check on the girl and she was lying on her back (shes a tummy sleeper) wailing as if she didn't know how to get back on to her stomach. Um, she's been rolling over for months now. Hilarious! Speaking of wailing, she looks desperate doesn't she.

Wailing on 2/27/2007 3:34pm

3:34pm 20 seconds later

3:35 pm... is it mean that I take pictures of my child as she screams. I did it to document a little bit of her personality that i will reveal to her when she is 14 and doesn't want me around.
Because here she is at 3:35 and 15 seconds:Perfectly happy without a tear in the arms of her mother, hmmm..... I know, i spoil her and I pick her up when ever she wants, but I LOVE her and I can't help it!

Look at how meaty her legs are!!!! I just want to gnaw on them... sorry? Dang she looks like John Mark! (I mean in the face... not the legs)

The girl and her daddy:) He's an amazing dad... I love every second with him!

Happy Easter!
Isaiah and cousin Morgan. (What do you think of the Elvis lip?) She LOVES her cousin!

Well, I guess that's it for now, I'll try to do better at posting stuff. We're moving this weekend and I'll get some funny transition photos. Our life is out of control, I think thats how God likes for it to be. We are blessed beyond measure and everyday I am amazed at the God we serve and how He loves how He created us. I need to live this life like I am a product of the King of Kings... dang. Life really is an adventure.

You're in my world now Grandma!

I know that many people see Isaiah and say how cute she is, but let me say that they have NO IDEA how cute she really is! I know every mom feels this way and thats why I don't feel like I'm being too proud. This girl amazes me and I am completely devoted to her. I say all of this because the other night I BROKE DOWN! I don't mean a little reminiscent of how life used to be or maybe a little down because I can't eat, sleep, think, pray, talk, read, play, breathe, run, drive, shop, write blogs or have friends when I WANT to, I mean I broke down. There was a little sobbing involed, a blank stare on my face for about 48 hours, baby food on my tee-shirt that i wore for the same 48 hours, little unsolicited conversation and a whole lot of talking to God. It was so weird! I mean every time I was with Isaiah her smile would brighten my day but I felt completely alone and kind of hollow. Annie came by on Tues to bring flowers for Isaiah and me from JM for Valentines and as she left she asked if we would ever be friends again and i was like, 'I don't know, maybe one day.' There was nothing odd about that, just normal joking between friends who rarely are serious. I went inside realizing that right now I don't feel like I have the luxury of 'friends'... so i cried about it. Basically it was one big massive pity party that lasted a couple days and now looking back I wish I could have smack myself out of it! I mean seriously each of us have about 6-9 months of our lives where life is all about us and right now Isaiah has hers. I had my mine 28 years ago, why should I deny her hers? I have a JEWEL of a baby. I mean she's WONDERFUL and she is good and she is healthy, so what the heck was I complaining about?! Being a mom is such a rare opportunity to be the center of someone's world for a short time and yes, life isn't wat it was, but DANG its awesome. I love Isaiah Grace and she is worth every sacrifice and so much more and I could kick myself for acting so poorly.
Ok, for the cute stuff...
Isaiah and her cousin Selah were dedicated on Sunday... adorable! Selah is crazy and fun and Isaiah is more reserved and cautious but both are freakishly cute in their own little ways. Selah talked through the whole first part of the service and Isaiah just looked at her like 'do you realize that there are PEOPLE looking at you?' Isaiah is not one for drawing attention to her self. (She gets that from her dad.)
The girl is now a rolly-polly, she is rolling all over the place and she so fat and chubby doing it. I love her! She is munching on solids (a little bit even goes in her mouth!) and staying awake for longer stretches, life is good and I am so thankful. We read books and her fav. is a Veggie Tale book from her Aunt Jeanney Poo because its a cloth book and she can chew on while I read. Just so you know how crazy my hormones are, today I love my life, yesterday I cried. I'm a freak.
So this is my world and I love all of the people in it. i wish I could see many of them a whole lot more, but for now I'll take what I can get:)

PS: Annie, sorry you had to see me in my t-shirt covered in baby food.

Why I wish I were an artist

I want to start by saying to is Grey's Anatomy Day! I always wake up on Thursdays with a bit of a spring in my step (even when its nasty and rainy out side ) because I know that it is the night of my favorite guilty pleasure. Sometimes I wonder if I'll feel guilty for my love of this show when I see Jesus face to face. Will I wonder why i wasted an hour every week on a mindless, silly TV show? I'm sure when i see His face i wont care about anything except that which i will be gazing upon for eternity. i wish I could see it now and then Grey's anatomy wouldn't be so exciting and I would wake up everyday pumped that 'today i get to see my Jesus' face'. Sadly enough i still settle for an hour of witty coments, sexual relationships and few operations thrown in for good measure. I wish I were more holy. I admire the people who don't have TVs and just enjoy those around them.
Last night after nursing, I held a beautiful sleeping baby in my arms. My breath was taken away by the way light rested on her sweet skin and the shadows gave her features greater definition. At that moment I would have given any talent I have to be able to paint a picture of that face. Just that one and that one moment in time. It was the sweetest and at the same time the strongest fase i have ever seen. it made me realize that i have a daughter who is mine for a time but who has a life of her own given to her by God. He will guide her and she will have to strength to stand for what is true. My daughter is strong, her life will change others, she has a destiny and a future that is her own. Thats why I wish I were an artist becuase for this moment in time she needs to be held and I can gaze on her sweet face in the silences of the night but it won't last forever. i just want to remember.
